- post, we have not had another 9-11 since. We are more safe. 9-11 cost america 3 trillion dollars. Both wars cost america 1 trillion dollars. Nuff said.
- mmac - tell us again, what did Iraq have to do with 9-11? Also, we have NOT had a terrorist attack since Obama took office, using your same logic (or lack of) that must mean Obama's policies have kept us safer than Bush's right?
- The white house, congress, and justice dept should get a 30% cut in their budgets.

- What so congress and the POTUS can ask for another tax to fund fixing the highways. I'm sure they already spent that gasoline tax money on something else.
- we should combine the federal cabinets of agriculture, commerce, and energy into one cabinet and lay off 2/3 of all the employees in those departments. Health and human services, housing and urban development, and interior should consolidate into one agency and lay off 2/3 of its employees. Labor and transportation should consolidate into 1 cabinet department and lay off 1/2 of its employees. The state department should lose 30% of its budget. The department of defense should lose 5% of its budget. Now all you dems DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!

- Thanks for a simple-minded solution to a complicated problem. Cutting the defense budget 10 % ALONE would do more than all of that. I have a better idea, you Tea-Bagging-Bozo. Identify specific government projects going on in your state ... and let's cancel THEM.
- post, ok you asked now hear this tea party members response. We should abolish the federal dept of education. This will save us 650 billion dollars over 10 yrs. Since education is funded at the state and local by 93% and ever since carter created this federal monstrosity our children's education has gone downhill. If it doesnt work abolish it.

- Yes, we want smaller government. Yes, we want to cut out wasteful spending. Yes, we want a new, smaller, easier to understand, fairer to everyone, more competent IRS. Yes, we want to keep our programs for the poor and disabled, but we want a revised, less wasteful WIC and foodstamp program. Yes, we want our retirement programs, but we want simplier, less able to be defrauded Medicare and Medicaid programs. Yes, we want fewer government officials spending taxpayer money, and those that we do leave in office we want to have them account for every dime they spend and continually seek ways to make their offices work for the people. Yes, we want fewer government official-given luxeries provided at tax-payers expense,such as private jets,first class airline seats, huge limos and luxury vehicles. Yes, we want less waste in education dollars. Yes, we want state government control of education and want the federal government to bow out. Yes, we want to keep our military strong, and our foreign enemies at bay, but we want it to be because they are enemies, and not because of some private vindetta or agenda of government officials or rich businessmen. Yes, we want our borders secure, our airlines secure, our homes secure, and our money secure. Yes, we want our jobs back from oversees, we want our children safe, we want our streets safe. We want government to DO ITS JOB AND DO IT WELL. We want a job well done, and we don't want to pay you millions in salary to do so. I don't think half of America give a rat's ass (excuse me, but I'm angry) whether these government officials are Democrat, Republican, Tea Party, Independent, Rednecks, Cowboys, Nerds, good dancers, horrible dancers, black, white, brown, or blue, as LONG AS THEY DO THEIR JOBS, DO THEM WELL, AND DON'T CHEAT 'WE THE PEOPLE AMERICA'.

- Does CBS really think Americans are this ignorant? To assume you have an unbiased sampling of people to ask this question from, of all possible sources, the likes of Harvard and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. Associated with some of the most Liberal leaning people in the United States. You don't need Government to run Social Security nor Medicare properly, you need government to bring it to its knees....as it has done. Take money paid in by us, "the people", and spend it on the politician's personal sow's ear agendas. Privatize it and it will do fine. Stop lying to the American people regarding the plausibility of privately running most government entities to soluble status rather than what has been happening since government took it over. And CBS, why not join FOX in bring truth to the American people instead of an agenda of "a single world order". America who isn't afraid to fight will stand and take out all you who want to bring the USA asunder.....for global fruits of labor.
